WATCH: Rahul Tewatia lashes out at Himanshu Rana after getting run-out vs Maharashtra in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019-20

Rahul Tewatia lashes out at Himanshu Rana: Haryana’s batsmen were at odds with each other after a crucial partnership was broken.

During a Super League match of the ongoing season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy between Haryana and Maharashtra in Surat, Haryana all-rounder Rahul Tewatia was seen lashing out at his non-striker Himanshu Rana after getting run-out in a 168-run chase.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the 14th over when Rana hit a Naushad Shaikh delivery towards Ruturaj Gaikwad at deep mid-wicket. Eager to run the second run, Tewatia kept on running towards the danger end without even looking at Rana who was least interested in the second run.

By the time Tewatia realized that Rana has refused the second run, it had become too late for the southpaw to reach back to the striker’s end. Despite Gaikwad’s throw being wayward, a bit of an extra effort from Maharashtra wicket-keeper Nikhil Naik found Tewatia short of his crease.

After getting out, Tewatia was seen shouting at Rana laying emphasis on the call being his. Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the 11th over, Tewatia ended up scoring 28 (13) with the help of four fours and a six.

A brisk 35-run partnership between Rana and Tewatia had given the impression of Haryana sealing the chase but a close encounter saw them losing the match by 2 runs.

After Maharashtra captain Rahul Tripathi won the toss and chose to bat, his ninth T20 half-century propelled his team to score 167/5 in 20 overs. Before getting out in the 16th over, Tripathi scored a match-winning 61 (37) with the help of three fours and four sixes.
