There is no hiding to the fact that Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan is also known for his batting skills. The 21-year old player, who plays for numerous franchises in T20 leagues, has often been witnessed hitting big shots down the order.
Rashid, who has attempted the helicopter shot in the past, took to his social media platform Twitter account to post another video of him attempting such a shot in what seems to be a regional match.
Generally played on the leg-side, Rashid adds variety to the shot by hitting it over the backward point region. While the full video is not available, it is not difficult to observe that the right-hand batsman timed his shot to perfection.
Rashid, who has a T20 batting strike rate of 148.62, has even scored a half-century in the format and has been started to be used as a trustworthy batting option down the order.
Among Rashid’s other awe-inspiring shots, he played a tennis forehand shot against Zimbabwe last year and followed it with a breathtaking six off Tom Curran in the recently concluded Big Bash League in Australia.
Rashid, whose last appearance in competitive cricket had come in the BBL 2019-20, scored 124 runs in 12 innings at an average of 15.50 and a strike rate of 153.08 including a 40 (18) with the help of four fours and three sixes against Sydney Thunder in Adelaide.
