WATCH: Rohit Sharma’s six leaves Virat Kohli bewildered
On a day when the Indian superstars needed to come to the fore, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ensured that the Indian pride was in good hands.
India had had a brilliant home season until now, blowing away oppositions for fun and stamping their authority in emphatic fashion!
But New Zealand played their cards brilliantly in the first ODI, taking bold decisions and executing their plans to perfection a the Wankhede.
But India came back strongly in the second, showing why they are so dominant in home conditions, pegging the Kiwis back in the first innings and showing extreme composure in the second.
And today, it was all about the Kohli- Rohit show, displaying some exemplary batting skills and pacing their innings to perfection. The duo took the game away from New Zealand big time, and there were so many moments to savour from that masterfully constructed partnership.
But there was none as beautiful as this, wherein Virat Kohli was left bewildered in awe, thanks to a brilliant pull shot in front of square by Rohit Sharma.
Adam Milne had been banging the ball in short, but Rohit Sharma was up for it, picking the length early and comfortably depositing it into the stands at mid-wicket.
Virat Kohli greeted Rohit Sharma with the biggest grin after that hit, patting him on the back and letting him know that the shot was out of the world.

India are currently on course for a score in excess of 330 and they would be hoping that their bowlers can do a good enough job in the second innings to gift India another home series win.
