When you pit a multiple time world champion in Randy Orton against a mid-card flounderer in Rusev, there can only be one realistic winner.
But Rusev went against the script last night on SmackDown, as the Russian brute pinned Orton with one kick.
Sure, Orton got distracted after the bell rang, but that will not take away from the result in Rusev’s eyes at least. After months of lacking direction, this was one of the biggest wins for Rusev.
It has been a sad decline for the Russian monster, who at one point was facing John Cena at Wrestlemania not too long ago. After being a major player on Raw last year, Rusev started his sudden decline.
His inability to get over with the fans proved to be a major stumbling block, as he must definitely be on the chopping block next summer!
