WATCH: Sarfaraz Ahmed disappointed as no Ultra Edge denies Quetta Gladiators of DRS appeal against Babar Azam

Sarfaraz Ahmed disappointed: The Gladiators wicket-keeper batsman didn’t seem too pleased with the lack of technology at the National Stadium.

During the sixth match of the ongoing fifth season of the Pakistan Super League between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators in Karachi, Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was disappointed after the lack of technology denied his team of a DRS appeal againat Karachi Kings opening batsman Babar Azam.

It all happened on the third delivery of the fourth over when Azam was beaten outside the off-stump by Gladiators fast bowler Naseem Shah. It was at this point in time that the visiting fielders went up in unison to appeal against Azam.

After umpire Faisal Afridi ruled the decision in the batsman’s favour, Ahmed opted for a DRS. Ahmed’s hopes were let down after a technical snag didn’t allow third umpire Imtiaz Iqbal to go through the Ultra Edge which would have provided a conclusive evidence regarding the decision.

The incident invited a 7-8 minute delay as the broadcaster continued to show the same replay again and again. After learning the development, Ahmed was seen debating with the umpire but his efforts were of no use.

After Kings captain Imad Wasim won the toss and chose to bat, his team posted 156/9 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the sixth over, Alex Hales top-scored for his team with 29 (27) with the help of one four and one six.

With bowling figures of 4-0-33-3, Quetta fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain was the pick of their bowlers. While a 157-run target was expected to be an easy chase for Quetta, some irresponsible batting have seen them getting restricted to 67/3 in 10 overs.
