WATCH: Steve Smith's tryst with leaving balls funnily continues in Boxing Day Test at MCG

Steve Smith’s tryst with leaving balls funnily continues: The Australian batsman put on display yet another version of his funny leaves.

During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing New Zealand’s tour of Australia in Melbourne, Australia batsman Steve Smith continued to become a source of amazement for the audiences.

It is worth mentioning that apart from entertaining the viewers with his shots, Smith also funnily left some balls outside the off-stump to allure interest. Smith did the same this time off a delivery from New Zealand pacer Tim Southee.

Talking more about Smith’s leaves, a hilarious compilation of the same had done the rounds across social media platforms during the Ashes earlier this year. The contagious craze regarding Smith’s leaves even saw England fast bowler Jofra Archer emulating him in the nets.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 22nd over today, Smith has scored his 28th Test half-century amidst a testing spell of fast bowling from the Kiwi bowlers. While Smith attacked visiting all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, he played the ball on its merit as far as facing the pacers was concerned.

Smith shared an 83-run partnership for the third wicket alongside Australia all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne (63) before the latter got out to New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme.

It was New Zealand captain Kane Williamson who won the toss and put the hosts in to bat in bowling-friendly conditions. While Australia included James Pattinson for the injured Josh Hazlewood, the visitors brought in Tom Blundell and Trent Boult to replace the injured pair of Jeet Raval and Lockie Ferguson.
