WATCH: Vettel talks about airport security on Letterman
Sebastian Vettel’s sense of humour has always entertained F1 fans all around. Hamilton and Vettel have shared some brilliant moments during press conferences, as both the World Champions like to get involved in healthy banter.
Vettel recalled a funny incident during his appearance on the David Letterman show, about the time when the customs personnel at an airport in Canada questioned Vettel about his visit to Canada.
Vettel told Letterman how he was asked by the customs personnel in Canada about his visit to Canada, with Vettel telling him that he had travelled to the country for the race.
The customs authority then went onto ask Vettel if he had a good seat.
A taken aback Vettel then told the customs authority that he was driving the car, and probably had the best seat in the house.
The personnel then checked Vettel’s passport again and let him through without much ado.
Vettel was a 2 time world champion at that point and would have expected the authorities to know him, but nevertheless, at least he could come with this cool story.
Customs Personnel- “What was the purpose of your visit to Canada?”
Vettel: “I was there for the race.”
Customs Personnel : “Did you have a good seat?”
Sebastian Vettel finds himself in a massive hole in his bid to win his 5th World title. Hamilton leads him by 67 points with just 4 races to go and the title is all but sealed.
For Vettel to be able to have any chance of winning the title, Hamilton will have to have a couple of DNFs in order for Vettel to have any hope.
