Ravi Shastri named Indian Cricket Coach

Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored one of his better hundreds earlier today as India came within three wickets of winning the first test in Kolkata.

Heading into day four, it seemed like the match was heading towards a dull draw before Rangana Herath played a wonderful knock to put Sri Lanka in the driving seat.

But Shikhar Dhawan’s counter attacking 94 ensured that India steadied the ship and headed into the final day with the possibility of winning the match.

The Lankan bowlers lead by Lakmal were in fine form as they rattled the Indian batting order. It then took a commanding hundred from Virat Kohli to safe guard India’s chances and give Sri Lanka a target to chase down.

During his innings, Kohli was seen communicating with Ravi Shastri through sign language, something which many people were trying to decode.

Eventually it was not to be as bad light stopped play with India still needing three wickets.
