van Dijk’s reaction to Vincent Kompany: Manchester City ended Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Manchester City registered a 2-1 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night. Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane were on target for Manchester City as the side ended Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the competition.
Liverpool, however, are still four points ahead of Manchester City in the league. However, the title race is now blown open as Tottenham are also closing in on Liverpool. Pochettino’s side sits at 3rd position, with six points behind the league leaders.
The match was marred with a fair share of controversies. The goal-line technology ruled out Mane’s shot, which was found only 1.12 cm away from being a goal. Vincent Kompany was also involved in controversy over his two-foot tackle on Mohamed Salah, and Jurgen Klopp later criticised the referee for not sending off the City defender.
A video has now surfaced where Kompany tries to joke around with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.
van Dijk’s reaction to Vincent Kompany:
Virgil van Dijk has emerged as one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season.
As Liverpool conceded their first loss in the league this season, the defender was in no mood for jokes.
And so, as Vincent Kompany comes to van Dijk for the customary handshake after the game, the Liverpool defender pays no attention to his jokes.

Loved last nights game. City were relentless in everything they did . A very different City but one that was compelling to watch.
Liverpool can take comfort that they are 4pts clear and clearly made Pep change . A rigid back 4 and the first game not dominating % for an age.— Gary Neville (@GNev2) January 4, 2019
“A few games this season we were lucky we have scored goals, and tonight we were quite unlucky with the chances that we had. That’s football.”
