"Who is the better captain between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma", Brad Hogg answers

better captain between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma: Former Australian bowler compared India’s captain and vice-captain.

Despite India’s praiseworthy show in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, there have been plentiful reports with respect to suggestions which would help the selectors in making amends. With the next World Cup four years away, now appears the right time to groom some players who might benefit in the future.

The first and foremost name which has made the rounds is of former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The 38-year old cricketer’s future has been a burning topic lately. With the Indian selectors set to pick the team for India’s tour of West Indies tomorrow, all eyes will unequivocally be on Dhoni.

Another common topic of discussion is whether India captain Virat Kohli should be replaced by his deputy Rohit Sharma in limited-overs format. With Sharma leading Mumbai Indians to a record-breaking four title victories in the Indian Premier League, there has been a lot of backing for him leading India in ODIs and T20Is.

Former Australia chinaman bowler Brad Hogg was recently vocal about the better captain out of Kohli and Sharma. Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Hogg lauded Sharma’s record but still considered Kohli as the better captain to lead India.

“Rohit Sharma in the IPL as his team has been in the finals a lot more than Virat Kohli’s. But, as far as the man to captain the Indian cricket team, it would be Virat Kohli. He leads from the front with the bat, in the field and on the training track. He is the fittest Indian cricketer going around.

“But he’s also a very good tactician, but the way he conducts himself on and off the field has been exceptional over the last year,” Hogg said.
