The 2020 WNBA season kickstarted on July 25 after a late start due to coronavirus. The season is shortened as all 12 teams will play only 22 regular games, facing each opponent twice. The playoffs will remain the same as it has been in the past seasons.

Mercury vs Fever Preview

Mercury lost to Los Angeles Sparks (76-99) in their opening encounter and Fever also lost to defending champions Washington Mystics (76-101) in the season opener. Both teams have lost their first match and they will look for a win today.

It’s still early days in the Bubble, but both teams would want to get a win under their belt as the business end of the season is just round the corner.

Mercury’s Shooting Guard Diana Taurasi impressed the most in the first game as he scored 16 points and 2 rebounds. Skylar Diggins-Smith and Bria Hartley were also in the list to top performer for the side in the game against Sparks.

Another night like the previous one for Taurasi could really up Mercury’s chances of winning this game.

The Fever side will rely on Kelsey Mitchell, she scored 25 points against the defending champion in the season-opening. Mercury will be favorites for the game but they have to get past Fever’s small forward Mitchell.
