“Well, actually, I talked to Christopher Daniels,” Kingston told Renee. “They offered me the deal and then I listened to the other side, I guess we call them. I was just weighing options. Then my mother goes, ‘You won’t be happy over there. Trust me’.”

“Who knows me better than my mother? Bottom line with the whole thing is, I know more people at AEW. I know there’s a lot more heart there. I think for her, that’s what she thought she was like, I’m gonna be with people who love it just as much as I do.”

Kingston debuted back in July last year as Cody’s challenger for the TNT title. He came second but impressed many with his showing. He was permanently signed to the promotion by the end of the month. Kingston would later embark on an amazing world championship pursuit against Jon Moxley.

Their feud would eventually culminate in an ‘I Quit’ match at Full Gear. Moxley came out on top but by the end of their rivalry, Kingston had become a Bona fide star.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
