WWE Championship Triple Threat Match: WWE Champion takes on AJ Styles and Sami Zayn | WWE News

WWE Championship Triple Threat Match: WWE Champion Kofi Kingston takes on AJ Styles and Sami Zayn in the Main Event of SmackDown tonight.

AJ styles and Sami Zayn, both of who are Raw Superstars, opened tonight’s Smackdown. The WWE Champion Kofi Kingston came out to the ring and challenged both of them to a title match.

A WWE Championship Triple threat match was made official for later in the night. The WWE Championship Match served as the Shows Main Event.

All 3 stars in the ring are proven performers. They worked a decent match that was entertaining to watch. Storyline wise it offered very little though. This match was purely filler. Fortunately it was an enjoyable one.

The match started with AJ kicking Kofi. There were drop kicks, chops, back breakers, everything you ask for. Kofi landed a trouble in Paradise on The Phenomenal one. The move threw AJ out of the ring.

Kofi’s Money in the Bank Opponent, Kevin Owens appeared out of nowhere and  attacked Xavier Woods. He threw him on to the steel steps. This distracted the WWE Champion long enough for Sami Zayn to hit him with a Blue Thunder Powerbomb. However Kofi managed to Kick out.

Kofi fought back and eventually pinned Sami Zayn after a ‘Trouble in Paradise’. Kofi Kingston still remains the WWE Champion. At least till Money in the Bank where he faces Kevin Owens.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
