WWE Extreme Rules: 2 huge matches announced on Raw tonight

WWE Extreme Rules: 2 huge matches announced on Raw tonight. And a few more possible matches hinted at.

With Stomping Grounds done and dusted with, the WWE have quickly set their sights on their upcoming pay per view, Extreme Rules. Two huge matches were announced tonight and a couple more were teased and will possibly be announced in the coming weeks.

Seth Rollins © and Becky Lynch © Vs Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans (Universal and Raw Women’s Championship)

The first of the two matches announced was Seth Rollins teaming with Becky Lynch to face familiar foes, Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. The Universal champion opened the show with real life girlfriend (A fact we all know now because of the million times it was said yesterday and today) to address the events that occurred in the main event of Stomping Grounds.

They were soon jumped by Lacey and Corbin before they were sent packing by the Universal champion and the Raw women’s champion. Corbin then complained that if it were not for Becky, he would be the Universal champion right now.

Lacey proposed a mixed tag match involving the 4 of them at Extreme Rules. Becky agreed on the condition that if they lost, that’d be the last they saw of them. The challengers agreed as long as both champions agreed to put their titles on the line.

Roman Reigns and The Undertaker Vs Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre

Roman beat Drew McIntyre on Sunday despite Shane’s best efforts. The McMahon Scion called out the Big Dog after the match and challenged him to a handicap match on Raw. The match was soon turned to a two on one simultaneous match.

Roman charged his opponents early in the match and stood his ground before the heels began dominating the match. The duo began brutalizing Roman and laid him out. The big dog found an ally in the unlikeliest of wrestlers as Undertaker came out for a very surprising yet random save.

Possible matches

The Revival © vs The Usos (Raw Tag team championship)

Two of the best teams that the WWE have to offer have been at it since after the Superstar Shake up. The Usos beat The Revival at Super ShowDown but the Revival pipped them in a Three-way Tag match for the Raw Tag team championships.

The Usos joined hands with The New Day to beat SmackDown Tag champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan and The Revival in an 8-man elimination tag team match.

Bobby Lashley vs Braun Strowman

The two behemoths faced each other at Jeddah before. Strowman came out victorious in that surprisingly good match. However, they’re far from done with each other. They had previously participated in an arm-wrestling match.

Tonight, they took part in a tug of war. Like the arm- wrestling match, Braun came out victorious. And Just like before, Lashley unloaded on Strowman after losing the match.

Kofi Kingston © Vs Samoa Joe (WWE Championship)

Kofi Kingston showed great resilience tonight taking on both Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in back to back matches. Zayn had earlier accused Kofi of only winning with the help of his friends.

Kofi then battled Zayn in a decent match and came out victorious after a roll up. However, he was called back into the ring by Owens who challenged him to an impromptu fight.

Kofi beat the former Universal champion via count out and made his way back to the ring. However, Samoa Joe ambushed the WWE champion and choked him out with a coquina clutch.

Ricochet © Vs AJ Styles (United States Championship)

The WWE had previously advertised that AJ and Ricochet would face each other tonight in a non-title match. The two tore the house down in what was definitely the match of the night.

AJ Styles would go on to win the match but he helped Ricochet to his feet and raised his arms. While he embraced the U.S champion in the middle of the ring, the commentators kept on hinting that AJ Styles could be Ricochet’s first challenger.

WWE Extreme Rules will take place on July 14, 2019 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It will stream live on the WWE network.
