Alexa Bliss reveals what Vince McMahon told her after she suffered several concussions a couple of years back and what the WWE did at the time.
The WWE have come under severe criticism regarding the treatment of their employees. There has been a raging debate regarding the nature of their talent’s contracts, their status as independent contractors and general wellbeing for several years now.
Alexa Bliss, was recently a guest on Alison Rosen’s “Is Your New Best Friend Podcast,”. The former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion gave her take on the argument. She came to her company’s defense claiming that their health was always the WWE’s number one priority.
Alexa Bliss reveals what Vince McMahon told her after she suffered several concussions
“WWE takes care of us 100%. We all are in a contract, and anything that happens inside the ring,” Alexa said. “WWE takes care of. Our health is 100% priority; our health and safety is 100% priority in the company. Unfortunately, we’re living in the middle of a cancel culture, where people try to start rumors, and make their assumptions of things.
“There has never been a time where I’ve ever felt uncomfortable about being in the ring; or ever felt forced about being in the ring. Even when I was injured, I had concussions, and Vince said ‘Alright, well we’re going to send you to the best specialists there are’, and he did, and I saw a concussion specialist, and they went above and beyond to take care of me. I know everyone feels that way.”
Alexa lies very high on the WWE totem pole. It could be argued that the treatment that came her way was owing to her status in the promotion. Regardless, between the Paul Bearer story and Bliss’ revelation, it is pleasing to know that company does not leave their employees on their own devices.
