CM Punk doesn’t think the Undertaker has retired

CM Punk doesn’t think the Undertaker has retired despite the Deadman stating in the final chapter of “Undertaker: Last Ride” that he has no desire to step into the ring again.

Despite there being no official announcement, the WWE has treated the Undertaker as if he has retired from wrestling. The WWE even paid a tribute to the Deadman’s legendary career in the WWE on a recent episode of SmackDown.

Former WWE Champion CM Punk however has a hard time believing that. He believes that the the Undertaker may not be done just yet and could continue making wrestlemania appearances where he can still extend his career through cinematic matches such as the Boneyard match at this year’s Wrestlemania.

“I don’t think he’s retired, come on,” CM Punk said during an appearance on  the Good Show With Ben Ennis & JD Bunkis. “That’s my reaction, there’s no way. This is a guy who can and most likely will, in my opinion, at least make an entrance every WrestleMania. You know what I mean? They just did the whole movie-match type thing I like to call it, as I liked to call it on Backstage on Fox. I just feel like that can add some longevity to his career, I don’t see him going anywhere.

Punk argued that several wrestlers including the Undertaker himself have announced their retirement only to return to the ring eventually.

“He’s a guy who in recent years has gone away and popped back up so it’s just so unceremonious to have the documentary where every episode he retired and then unretired, then at the end of it he said he retired again,” Punk Continued. “It’s part of wrestling now. Terry Funk, Ric Flair, everybody retires and comes back. I think selfishly everybody wants to see him come back.”

The Undertaker did mention that he’d consider returning if Vince McMahon was in a pinch. However, considering he just finished with a five-part docuseries on the WWE Network about he’s ready to move on, it seems unlikely that he will make a return now. It would be foolhardy on anyone’s part to say never in wrestling though.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
