However, things weren’t as easy as they are for him now. The wrestler-turned-actor has learned some valuable life lessons through painful experiences. In fact, at a very young age, Dwayne Johnson had to see his mother almost end her life.
During an episode of “Oprah’s Master Class” in 2015, The Hollywood Megastar took a trip down memory lane. Dwayne Johnson shared how he learned the value of life when he was just 15. He shed light on an old but scary incident involving his mother, Ata Johnson.

The Rock’s father, Rocky Johnson, tied the knot with “Ata” in 1978, and just like any other couple, they also had some rough times. During the early 90s, Dwayne Johnson, with his father and mother, went out to a restaurant for lunch.
After a while, the couple got into a fight and started arguing rather loudly. All of them had to leave the place with Dwayne Johnson driving his car and his father and mother, the other. Moments later, Rocky pulled the car over and Ata came out.
The Great One remembered a glazed look on his mother’s face as she walked right into the middle of I-65. Horns blowing, cars swerving in and out, and Dwayne Johnson, his heart just stopped after seeing his mother continuing to walk.
The then-15-year-old rushed and wrestled her over to the side of the road. Although Johnson didn’t remember what he said to his mom, he recalled hearing not a single word from her. At that moment, he claims to have learned the most valuable lesson of life.
“In that moment, one of the greatest lessons I’ve ever learned was how precious life is and in an instant, it can all go away…” Johnson stated.
Thankfully, Dwayne Johnson pulled his mother to the side before anything worse could happen. As to what transpired that day, The Great One stated she doesn’t remember anything. Anyway, after being married for over two decades, Rocky and Ata got divorced in 2003.

Dwayne Johnson is well aware of the troubles and struggles her mother went through during their early times. He remembers all the tears she shed when he was too young to do something. Now that he can afford a better life financially, he wishes to give her as much as he can.
Last year, The Great One gifted his mom her dream home, which is worth around $270 million. Taking to his Instagram, Johnson shared the moment with his fans with an emotional caption.
