The Miz reveals why he was kicked out of the locker room early on in his WWE career. The A-Lister was kept away from the locker room for several months.
The Miz is one of the most recognizable names in the WWE today and is a beloved figure backstage. That wasn’t always the case however. Early on in his career, the A-Lister was kept away from using the same locker room as the rest of the roster members for months on end. Miz, who was an upcomer at the time, had no choice but to comply.

What sin did he commit to receive such a punishment? Did he hurt his opponent inside the ring? Or was he being disrespectful to his senior colleagues? Turns out, it was because he ate a piece of chicken over referee Scott Armstrong’s bag.
The Miz reveals why he was kicked out of the locker room early on in his WWE career
Speaking on the latest WWE 24 documentary, The Miz recalled the events that led to his exile from the locker room.
“One day I was eating a piece of chicken in the locker room. Someone comes in and goes, ‘Dude, you’re eating over my bag.’ And his bag was right there. I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no.’ He goes, ‘Dude, you just got stuff all over my bag.’ I go [shakes head]… I still don’t think I got stuff on his bag, but I was [saying], ‘I’m sorry, I apologize.’ Another person walked in, ‘Oh, you got stuff on his bag? How could you do that? Unbelievable.’ And I thought they were joking.”
“It was almost like I was taking the chicken and just throwing it in the locker room and just smearing it all over the place and all over stuff. That’s what I felt like, and I’m appalled. ‘I am so sorry, I did not mean to do it. I’m just trying to do the right thing here’. And he goes, ‘You are not allowed to dress in our locker room. I think you should just stay out of the locker room.’”

The Miz did not mention any names. However, fans already know that the order was issued by Chris Benoit. The A-Lister was so committed to the unspoken rules of the business, he stuck to the protocol long after Benoit’s death and only rejoined the locker room after the Undertaker asked him to.
