Smith, has a propensity for stirring up controversies. In the recent past, Smith caught the ire of sports fans when he relegated Rihanna by comparing her with Beyoncé. Of course, Smith later apologized for his statement. This time, Smith had nice things to say about Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has been shrouded with legal cases since his hush money scandal came to light. Mr. Trump allegedly had his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, pay out $130,000 in hush money to former adult star Stormy Daniels.
It’s alleged that the payment was intended to hush up Trump’s affair with Daniels in 2007. Trump is further charged with another felony case.
Another woman was allegedly paid $150,000 in hush money. Trump is reportedly looking at 136 years in prison if proven guilty.
Twitterverse reacts to Stephen A. Smith defending Donald Trump
During Semafor’s inaugural Media Summit, Stephen A. Smith gave his thoughts about his fellow New Yorker. Smith stated that he and Trump have known each other for a long time.
He also added that he “genuinely liked him”. But, Smith also claimed that they don’t talk anymore.
Although they don’t talk anymore, Smith harbors a favorable opinion of Donald Trump. Smith rejected the opinion that Donald Trump was a racist.
Surprisingly, the Twitterverse finally found a common ground with the sports journalist and agreed with him. One user tweeted that Smith’s statement was the “only smart thing he said”. Here is how the people reacted.
