Real reason behind Zelina Vega’s WWE release revealed. Her departure from the promotion was announced right before tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
The WWE announced Zelina Vega’s release earlier in the night. The announcement came shortly after she Tweeted her support for Unionization. This led to speculation that her firing was a direct result of her post on her social media.
I support unionization.

It has since emerged that her firing was planned long before her tweet came out. In fact, Vega was informed late in the afternoon that she was being released from the company before tonight’s SmackDown tapings according to PWInsider.com.
I want to say thank you all very much for the last 3-4 years @WWEUniverse, it was incredible, I would have never have been able to say “this is for you dad” if certain people did not believe in me. I love you all and I couldn’t have done it without your support pic.twitter.com/R4fI9r64Vm

Real reason behind Zelina Vega’s WWE release revealed
According to the report, Vega and the WWE have been at loggerheads since their edict regarding third party apps such as Twitch and Cameo. Vega stopped streaming online like the others. However, she is reported to have been very vocal about maintaining her Twitch account. So much so that some WWE talent believe she was released in order to send a message to the rest of the locker room.
The report also adds that Xavier Woods and AJ Styles tried to convince Vince McMahon to change his mind. However, the duo failed and the mandate stood as is.
Vega has since confirmed that she will return to Twitch, presumably under her former ring name, Thea Trinidad.

Following her release, Vega will be under the 90-day no compete clause, forbidding her from joining another promotion until mid-February next year.
