WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels challenges England Cricket legend Andrew Flintoff to a Wrestling showdown at NXT UK.

At the peak of his career Andrew Flintoff was arguably the best all-rounder in world cricket. Since his retirement however, the English legend has tried his hand in numerous projects such as commentating, producing his own fashion range, participating in reality TV among others. A chance to add Pro wrestling to that list has now come his way.

Flintoff has previously mentioned loving wrestling as a child. The former all-rounder watched NXT UK last week and joked about taking on the talent on display with his actor friend Tom Davis.

“Watching wrestling NXTuk on @btsport reckon me and you @BigTomD could sort these lads out,” he wrote.

Flintoff promptly received an open invitation from the promotion.

The legendary cricketer has now caught the attention of another legend in WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who invited him for a match between them.

“I’m addressing this to Freddie Flintoff and Tom Davis.” Shawn Michaels said. “Now, it’s my understanding that you two gentlemen – and rightly so, by the way – have become huge fans of NXT UK.

“ First of all I wanted to tell you how much, on behalf of NXT UK and all of the NXT UK Superstars, we thank you very much that you appreciate our fantastic show. Also I’ve heard, here and there, that you guys may be thinking about putting your toe in the water of the NXT UK Superstars.

“I just wanna tell you, be careful what you ask for, because between you and me, I’ve got no problem delivering on that.

“So, in all seriousness, somewhere down the road, when hopefully our world gets back to a little bit more normalcy, you guys can come visit us personally and see if you can really walk the walk, OK? You’ve done a great job of talking the talk. Now it’s time to see the rubber meet the road.”

Flintoff is yet to respond to the invitation. Murder In Successville actor Tom however, was stoked at the invitation.

“I’m blown away by this,” he wrote back. “Absolute legend of the game, you best believe @ShawnMichaels Big T talks like he walks… LETS GET IT ON BABY!”
