Stone Cold opens up on his relationship with Vince McMahon

WWE Hall of Famer and legend Stone Cold Steve Austin opens up on his relationship with boss and onscreen foe Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon left the commentary booth in the 90’s to become wrestling’s most despicable villain. All they needed was a hero to vanquish the evil tyrant. In came a Texan wrestler by the name of Stone Cold Steve Austin and together they changed the game forever.

Stone Cold has since retired from the business. However, he is still remembered for his iconic feuds with Vince McMahon as he is for his back and forth with The Rock. It appears though, that their animosity on screen wasn’t too far away from their real life.

Steve Austin recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. He told the former punter that while he had a better relationship with Vince today, the two didn’t always get along.

“Our relationship is strong,” Steve Austin revealed. “When we were feuding for damn near two years… I love that guy, I’m sure he probably loves me too. But, man, there was, for a shoot, a lot of times some animosity there when I did some of the things I did. I’ve got nothing but respect for the guy and we’re in a real good place.”

Austin’s career in the WWE was cut short due to multiple knee injuries and a serious neck injury. He was still in Vince’s employ for a few more years though serving as the onscreen General manager and even the Sherriff of RAW.

He has since moved on and now has a podcast named The Stone Cold Podcast. He has had several guests from the WWE on the show including, yep you guessed it, Vince McMahon.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
