Triple H reveals plans to retire from WWE

Triple H reveals plans to retire from WWE. The NXT top boss last wrestled more than a year ago at WWE Super Showdown last year in June.

Triple H is one of the biggest stars the WWE has ever produced. In a world of heroes such as Stone Cold and The Rock, Triple H was a classic villain everyone loved to hate. Like most attitude era stars however, age has limited his time in the ring.

In fact, the last time he fought was all the way back in June last year against Randy Orton at WWE Super ShowDown. Most of his contemporaries have called it a time and deservedly so. However, Triple H is yet to make a formal announcement on the matter.

Triple H reveals plans to retire from WWE

During his recent appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Triple H spoke on his plans for retiring from the WWE. He revealed that he was already semi-retired but was waiting for the right moment, on the off chance that he could still have one more match left in him.

“Right now, zero,” Triple H said. “I just feel like there’s a moment where you go, ‘I’m retired’, but you’re not. I’d rather just not say it and if the right opportunity comes up that everybody believes is right, and I believe I can do it without it falling apart, me or the match, then okay, I would consider it.

“I am not at a point where I would say, ‘Absolutely not, under any circumstances, but probably not that far off.’ The thing for me that’s good is I’m so transitioned over and satisfied with the other aspects of my career and my life and everything else, I get as much fun and excitement out of watching others do it and succeed at it.”

He went on to add that he would not regret if he never fought another match inside the ring.

“If the opportunity does not come for me to step back in the ring, I get asked it a lot. It would not bother me. I would not be like, “Oh, man! I missed those last two years, I should have done it when I could have.”

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
