WWE Icon John Cena Earned Whopping $2.5 Million for Just Three Scenes in 2015 Comedy Film!

Before immersing himself in Hollywood full-time, John Cena was on-again-off-again in his acting career. Although John Cena was cast in many movies even during his active in-ring days, he hadn’t sunken his teeth into Hollywood completely. In 2015, John was still one of the top stars in WWE. In fact, he won his last WWE Championship in 2017. Cena’s budding Hollywood career saw him nab a small role in a 2015 film, Trainwreck, but take home a massive paycheck. 

In the film, Cena played the role of “Steven”, who was a gym bro. Steven was in an inconstant relationship with the film’s protagonist, Amy. Amy is a magazine writer and a hedonist and promiscuous young woman, struggling to find true love. Before she meets Aaron (Bill Hader), she continues to live a pleasure-seeking life. 

John Cena made a whopping $2.5 million for his cameo in Trainwreck

Yes, John Cena made an eye-popping $2.5 million from Trainwreck. This may come as a surprise, as John’s screen time was very limited. The Peacemaker actor did three scenes in the film.

Despite playing a small role in the movie, Cena was very excited to be cast in the comedy film. The WWE icon told Screen Rant that he had a lot of fun working with Amy Schumer and the film director, Judd Apatow. 

“It’s a fun atmosphere to be a part of, this project especially. Working with Amy and Judd was fantastic and I would clock in and just laugh the whole day.”

With a budget of $35 million, the film did very well at the box office, grossing $140.08 million worldwide. Interestingly, John Cena did another cameo in the 2015 film, Sisters. Aside from that, John Cena played the “cool dad” in Daddy’s Home 2 alongside Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrel the same year. 

John Cena’s ex-fiance felt frigid watching his s*x scene in Trainwreck

Although John Cena did very well in the flick, his then-fiancée, Nikki Bella, was weirded out at Cena’s exposed butt during a s*x scene in the film. Speaking on Total Bellas, Nikki Bella confessed that she could not m*sturbate forever after seeing the steamy s*x scene. John Cena and Nikki Bella, who were once WWE’s power couple, officially parted ways in 2018.

 “Imagine watching your man do a s*x scene and have whole world see his big butt. You know, you get visuals. I swear I couldn’t masturbate forever because I just think of the s*x scene.”
