With WrestleMania 39 in the books, there are internal talks in WWE about signing Edge’s former tag team partner Christain Cage. Edge’s on-screen brother, Christian Cage, is currently signed to Tony Khan’s AEW. Ahead of Edge’s match at WrestleMania 39, there were rumors that Christian would make an appearance and accompany him to the ring. The former members of The Brood were famous for their iconic extreme matches against the Hardys during the early 2000s.
The duo last shared the ring in WWE at the Royal Rumble 2021. The wrestling veterans had an emotional reunion as they hugged in the middle of the ring. Following his appearance in WWE, Captain Charisma signed up with AEW the following month.
Although his addition to the AEW roster wasn’t met with a lot of hype, Cage delivered iconic matches against notable AEW stars.
WWE is reportedly looking to bring back Christian Cage for another run with Edge
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are talks backstage about bringing Christian Cage back to WWE for another run with Edge. Meltzer noted that Christian’s contract length with AEW is unknown.
At this point, the plans of reuniting the two wrestling legends for another run remain far-fetched due to Cage’s AEW contract. However, it’s believed that Edge would like to enjoy another run with his partner before hanging up his boots.
Hypothetically speaking, if Christian returned to WWE and tag teamed with Edge to win the tag titles (and eventually put over a new tag team) would this interest you?#WWERaw #AEWDynamite #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/A2pBGR0zP2

The Rated R superstar’s deal with WWE is almost up. Edge signed a three-year contract with WWE in 2020 that made him $3 million each year. But, additional time will seemingly be added to Edge’s contract due to his absence in 2020 because of injury. It remains to be seen if Edge and Christian reunite for one last time in WWE.

Edge became the second-ever to defeat The Demon King on the main roster
WWE has done a good job protecting Finn Balor’s Demon King gimmick. Roman Reigns was the first ever to defeat The Demon King on the main roster. The duo squared off at Extreme Rules in 2021 for the Universal Championship. At WrestleMania, Edge did the unthinkable by adding his name to the short list of superstars who have beaten Finn Balor’s Demon.

Samoa Joe is also one of the few wrestlers to subdue The Demon. Joe defeated The Demon King in 2016 at NXT Take Over in a Steel Cage Match.
