WWE SmackDown 7 May 2019 Preview : Predicted matches and storylines

WWE SmackDown 7 May 2019 Preview : The SportsRush presents to you the predicted matches and storylines for the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown.

Roman and Elias

The Big Dog defeated the B-Team last week in a handicap match with Elias ringside scheming against him. This has been a rather lackluster feud and is most likely serving as a filler to what is most probably leading to a Shane Vs Roman match down the line. Considering Roman’s Tweet and WWE’s response yesterday, The Big Dog is most likely headed to Raw this week (If security personnel couldn’t stop a one legged Becky, what’s stopping Roman?). If that does end up happening then this episode will probably focus on the aftermath of his discretion.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship

The WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships are currently vacant. The Hardy Boys relinquished the Titles last week following Jeff’s injury and subsequent time out. WWE have announced that Shane McMahon will address the Titles and the Division in the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown. There will most likely be a tournament that will culminate at The Money in the Bank Pay per view where new champions will be crowned.

The 6 Women Tag Team Match.

On paper this looks like another lazy Tag Team Match put together because creative has nothing for the talents. In reality though, there’s a lot here that could possibly happen. Becky Lynch could interfere after weeks of Charlotte’s sneak attack and give her a taste of her own medicine. Sonya could turn on Mandy (and stick to it this time hopefully). Considering all 3 women on the face team are Money in the Bank participants, they could have their own falling out too. With the talent in the ring, this could be a great TV match.

Money in the Bank Male competitors.

Andrade and Ali have been announced to have a match on this episode of WWE SmackDown. You can expect Randy to dish out a few RKO’s out of nowhere on any or even both of them. Also be on the lookout for Balor, who may be looking for a payback for last weeks post match Rko on him.

Aleister Black

Since the Superstar Shake Up, Black is yet to wrestle. He has given two promos that have slightly hinted at a possible heel turn. Hopefully he will be back on television this week but that seems unlikely with most of the other wrestlers occupied at the moment. Who knows after Money in the Bank maybe?

Women’s tag team championship

Following the IIconics Title victory at Wrestlemania and the subsequent squash match against a couple of jobbers at the SmackDown after, the duo from down under have not really done match. They’ve lost 4 consecutive matches. Asuka and Kairi Sane on the other hand are being built up as a tag team and looks like they’re next in line for a title shot.

Lars Sullivan

It’s about time the freak gets a feud. He’s got the look, he’s interesting and he’s caught our attention. Doing the same thing every week is not the way to go about it. I would have loved him to go against Black but it’s too early now for anyone of them to take a loss. Anyway, knowing Vince, expect him to attack Truth or Matt once again this week.

Matt Hardy

This week could see the reinvention of Matt Hardy. Reports of a Matt Hardy  gimmick change have been doing the rounds off late. Dave Meltzer reported that Matt was pushing to do all of his gimmicks at once, à la ‘The 3 Faces of Foley’. If there’s anyone in the current roster that can pull this off, it’s Matt. Let’s see if this happens on the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown.

Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens

After infiltrating The New Day, Kevin Owens betrayed Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. An exasperated Kofi closed the show by beating up Owens and screaming “This is what you asked for!” over and over again. This episode of WWE SmackDown may see their match become official. Hopefully we will now see a more intense and aggressive version of Kofi. Against Bryan it was all about pride but with KO it’s about his brothers. Knowing WWE, he will still come out dancing and throwing pancakes.
