Vince McMahon has returned to the helm of the company he helped become a global phenomenon. However, not everyone is happy with the news. His return has reportedly sparked a sale of the company. It is not confirmed whether it is related or not, but Vince’s comeback has also coincided with Stephanie McMahon stepping down from her position as Co-CEO, resulting in Nick Khan manning that position on his own now. However, that may not be the last piece of surprise awaiting fans.

WWE reportedly sold to Saudi Arabia’s public fund
According to Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN, Vince McMahon has sold the WWE to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The report further states that the promotion will go back to being private. If true, this will be the first such instance since the company became a publicly traded company in October 1999.

This has come after the WWE patriarch successfully reinstated himself to the board of directors on the back of his position as the controlling shareholder.
He had announced his intention to undertake “strategic alternatives” with the goal to “to maximize value for all WWE shareholders.”
This statement was interpreted as a hint towards a sale, an action that has since reportedly happened, although the WWE is yet to confirm the news.
