After making a miraculous in-ring return in 2020, Edge formed the Judgment Day faction at this year’s Wrestlemania. Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley were the initial members, but Fin Balor joined the group in June, and the original leader was thrown out. Since then, the Rater-R Superstar has been fighting to end what he started. However, the 11-time world has had no success so far. Well, according to a recent report, Edge might be facing Fin Balor in a huge gimmick match at Royal Rumble next month.
After last month’s Survivor Series WarGames, Royal Rumble 2023 will be WWE’s next premium live event. Considering the two-month gap and it being next year’s first event, Triple H is trying to make it bigger than ever. Superstars like Cody Rhodes, The Rock, and Logan Paul are already rumored to make an appearance. Now, it seems fans can add the Rated-R Superstar to the list as well.
WWE planning an Edge versus Demon Balor in a Hell in a Cell at Royal Rumble 2023
At October’s Extreme Rules PPV, Balor shocked everyone by defeating the Rated-R Superstar in an “I Quit Match”. Though the victory came by putting Edge’s wife at risk. The 11-time world champion has been laying low ever since.
However, according to WrestlingNewsCo, WWE is planning to put the new and old leaders of Judgment Day face-to-face once again. However, this time, both men might square off in a Hell In A Cell [HIAC] match. WrestlingNewsCo has recently reported that WWE is thinking of doing an Edge versus Finn Balor at Royal Rumble 2023.
And not just HIAC, Balor is also speculated to bring back his Demon Balor character next month. Wrestle Ops also made a Twitter post putting some more authenticity to plans WWE has for Edge and Fin Balor at Royal Rumble 2023.

The last time WWE fans saw Demon Balor in the ring was more than 14 months ago
Despite the Demon persona being well-liked by fans, Vince McMahon rarely used Fin Balor in that manner. In fact, when the last time Demon Balor wrestled in the WWE ring, it ended in a losing cause. At last year’s Extreme Rules, Balor challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. A character that Triple H established as an undefeated one in NXT, was booked to lose on the main roster.

Nevertheless, as per WrestlingNewsCo, fans will see Fin Balor using his Demon persona against Edge at Royal Rumble 2023. However, considering the Judgment Day storyline, it will be interesting to see what will be its fate under Triple H.
