Triple H WWE

Ever since Triple H took over the creative duties of Mr. McMahon in July, a lot has changed backstage in WWE. Now, the company has given its employees more freedom not only on the mic but also outside WWE. One recent example of HHH’s liberty was the return of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Both men have some commitments left with NJPW and in fact, Karl is currently holding the NEVER Openweight Champion in New Japan. It’s obvious that the new Head of WWE Creative is open to working with other promotions under the right circumstances.

Well, that’s not the case for WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley. It was recently reported that WWE didn’t allow the legendary tag team champion to make an appearance outside WWE. Not just that, the report claimed the new Creative Head would have released the veteran if he had done so.

Triple H denied WWE Legend D-Von Dudley an appearance at the recent ECW reunion

Recently, on December 17, Battleground Championship Wrestling had planned an event at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. D-Von Dudley, who currently works backstage in NXT, was initially advertised to make an appearance on the ECW tribute show.

In fact, the Hall of Famer was supposed to be in the corner of Bully Ray, who was facing Matt Cardona. Moreover, D-Von was also set to appear at a convention after the show. However, WWE first agreed and then refused to allow D-Von to make an appearance there.

Now, Dave Meltzer, in a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, has shed some more light on the whole matter.

According to him, initially, John Cone agreed to allow D-Von Dudley to appear on the ECW reunion show. However, the idea was later rejected by Bruce Prichard. took the matter to Triple H who reportedly threatened to fire the WWE Hall of Famer if he made an appearance. Meltzer stated:

“He [D-Von Dudley] went through John Cone in talent relations who reportedly approved… Bruce Prichard nixed the booking and it ended up on the desk of Paul Levesque [Triple H] … Levesque didn’t give approval and he [D-Von Dudley] was basically told if he did it, he’d be fired, so he didn’t do it.”

Reports claim that Triple H disapproved because he did not want to put the WWE veteran at any kind of physical risk. However, according to some other reports, all D-Von had to do was take a table out and throw it in the ring.

Shinsuke Nakamura is all set to wrestle a dream match outside WWE soon

It’s surprising to see The Game allowing some to make Independent Appearances and at the same time, denying others. As a matter of fact, Triple H has allowed a former muti-time champion to wrestle outside WWE.

Shinsuke Nakamura is scheduled to go one-on-one against The Great Muta on January 1, 2023. The event will be organized by the pro wrestling company NOAH and will take place at the iconic Budokan Hall.

Nevertheless, D-Von Dudley is a big name in tag team history and not just in the WWE. The Hall of Famer has made his make all around the globe wrestling for multiple promotions. In his legendary career, D-Von, alongside Bubba Ray Dudley, has won over 20 tag team titles.
