WWE Reportedly “Entertaining the Idea” of Having Stephen A. Smith at WrestleMania 39
Other than being WWE’s biggest pay-per-view, WrestleMania is also well-known for celebrity appearances. In fact, since the first Show of Shows in 1985, more than 140 celebrities have been featured so far. Well, the next Showcase of Immortals won’t be any different as it is set to take place in Hollywood. And considering what WWE legend Ric Flair claimed recently, fans might see renowned NBA host Stephen A. Smith appearing at WrestleMania 39.
Every year, WrestleMania features some major money matches and at the same time, brings some big names from the non-wrestling background. While some of them grace the megaevent by just appearing, a few even perform in the ring. In recent years, megastars like Bad Bunny, Johnny Knoxville, and Logan Paul have gained a lot of praise for delivering excellent matches.
Ric Flair claims WWE plans to feature Stephen A. Smith at Wrestlemania 39
Stephen Anthony Smith is a name that needs no introduction in the world of American sports television. Renowned commentator on ESPN’s First Take, the 55-year-old recently had a chat with WWE Legend Ric Flair.
During the show, The Nature Boy stated WWE knows Stephen A. Smith loves California, the place that will be hosting the next Showcase of Immortals. In fact, Ric Flair claimed he heard WWE is entertaining the idea of featuring him at WrestleMania 39. And not just an appearance, the Hall of Famer asserted the management is thinking of bringing the NBA host as a manager for a WWE superstar.
“I think they [WWE] are entertaining the idea of having you [Stephen A. Smith] manage one of these guys that can’t talk too well.”
Stephen A. Smith, intrigued by the news, stated he is ready for a WWE appearance but wants to be a heel. Mentioning names like Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan and Paul Heyman, the NBA commentator seemed confident of performing as a bad guy’s manager.
The 55-year-old NBA Commentator had one more condition to appear in WWE
During the show, Stephen A. Smith also revealed his terms and conditions for appearing at WrestleMania 39. The NBA commentator stated WWE can have him as a bad guy manager but on one condition. Stephen does want to get involved in any kind of in-ring action. He stated:
“If they [WWE] want me to be a bad guy manager, here’s the problem: nobody can touch me… I’m going to have that as part of my [WWE] contract. I’m too fragile.”
Now whether Stephen A. Smith appears at the upcoming WrestleMania or not, is yet to be seen. Though there are reports that Triple H is planning to make his first WrestleMania under his control a historic one.
