WATCH: Fan runs on the field to touch Dhoni’s feet in Pune
The fixture between CSK and RCB showed us once again that even low scoring games can make for some exciting moments. Put in to bat, RCB could not go as per plan as the team could only manage 127 for 9 in their stipulated 20 overs.
It was always expected that CSK would chase down the small total on a Pune pitch that did not particularly have any demons. However, RCB bowled some tight line and lengths and took the match closer than it was expected.
After Shane Watson lost his wicket early, Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina gave some stability to the CSK run chase. Rayudu and Raina not only scored 32 and 25 respectively, they also did not eat up too many balls.
Although the required run rate was not too much since the outset, CSK batters always kept up with it which did not put them under any sort of pressure.
However, once the team lost the wickets of Rayudu, Raina and Dhruv Shorey in quick succession, RCB edged their way back into the game.
With the match opening up, in came CSK skipper and one of the greatest finishers of all time MS Dhoni. He along with Bravo first took a little bit to time to calm the nerves of the CSK fans.
Once that happened and Virat Kohli threw the ball towards Yuzi Chahal, MSD cut loose and smacked 3 towering sixes. As a result, the match that was once looking close was done and dusted with 2 overs still to spare.

As the match folded up, a fan ran right from the boundary to touch MSD’s feet. This showed the love and respect that Mahi continues to command among his fans.
