Twitter erupts as Ben Stokes fetches Rs 14.5 Crore in the IPL auctions

Another one of those days when sport and money come together to provide people with a lot of entertainment. Some surprising bids, some overlooked international stars, some career defining moments for uncapped players and some heartening bids for players from associate nations.

Ben Stokes turned out to be the highest bid for player, fetching Rs 14.5 Crore from the Rising Pune Supergiants. While a lot of people had predicted Ben Stokes to be the highest bid for player, not many could have predicted this high a bid for someone who has an economy rate of 9+ in T20 cricket
