Ravindra Jadeja catch vs England: Watch Jadeja grabs fantastic catch to dismiss Jason Roy
Ravindra Jadeja catch vs England: The Indian all-rounder put on display a phenomenal fielding effort to dismiss English opening batsman.
During the 38th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between England and India at Edgbaston, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja grabbed a fantastic catch at long-on to put a halt to a 160-run opening partnership between Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow.
It all happened on the first ball of the 23rd over when Roy’s attempt of continuing the acceleration saw him mis-timing a Kuldeep Yadav delivery towards the long-on region. Jadeja, who was fielding as a substitute for India opening batsman Lokesh Rahul, ran to his left and eventually dived to complete a phenomenal fielding effort.
Given the nature of England’s start, India were desperate to pick a wicket. Struggling big time against Roy and Bairstow, the Indian bowlers required such a fielding effort as assistance.
Roy, who was included in the English XI despite not being 100% fit, justified the team management’s desperate move. In what was his 16th ODI half-century, Roy ended up scoring 66 (57) with the help of seven fours and two sixes.
After England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and chose to bat, the start was a much-needed one for the hosts. While England included Roy and Liam Plunkett in place of James Vince and Moeen Ali, India brought in Rishabh Pant in place of injured Vijay Shankar.

Moment of real brilliance from @imjadeja incredible athleticism and anticipation and to then finish off the catch was a terrific effort. England well on top for sure but that was special.
