Sarfaraz Ahmed passes massive statement on India’s loss vs England during the league stage of 2019 Cricket World Cup
Team India’s 31-run loss against England during the league stage of the ongoing 2019 Cricket World Cup, proved to be a massive dent as far as Pakistan’s hopes for qualifying for the semi-finals were concerned. Had India won, Pakistan would have only needed to win their last league match against Bangladesh- which they eventually did, to make it through to the Top-4.
The fact that India lost their only match versus England, and that too at a point where entire Pakistan were expecting for an India victory, did not go down well with fans and even a few former Pakistani cricketers. They blamed India for deliberately not going for a win, so that their arch-rivals are denied an opportunity to make it through to the knock-out stage.
Pakistan skipper, who has finally arrived back home after the World Cup exit, passed a massive comment while addressing the reporters on the aforementioned issue.
What did Sarfaraz Ahmed comment?
On expected lines and upholding the spirit of the game, Sarfaraz credited England for playing better than India on that day in Edgbaston, brushing all the possible contentions of India hatching an alleged conspiracy against his team.
“No, no, it is not right to say this. I don’t think India lost because of us. England played well to win,” Sarfaraz told reporters after reaching back home.

He also came down hard on a journalist during the press conference after she used the word ‘Bengalis’ while asking about the match against Bangladesh.
“Please don’t use this word. It could become an issue for you on the social media. I think you should address them as Bangladesh. You are using objectionable word,” Sarfaraz Ahmed said after the journalist asked why the team management did not give Shoaib Malik a farewell in the match against the “Bengalis”.
