Sanjay Manjrekar comments on Ravindra Jadeja after his brilliant half-century vs New Zealand during Ind vs NZ World Cup semi final
Indian cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been off-late facing the wrath of the fans for his ‘bits and pieces’ comment on the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The fans had too allege him for commentating in a biased manner, and at times being way too critical in analysing a player despite himself having a pretty ordinary International Cricketing career.
What happened even worse with him, when Jadeja decided to express his animosity on him publicly via his twitter handle and then the former England cricketer- Michael Vaughan taking constant, repeated digs at him for his comments on the all-rounder. Manjrekar had even blocked Vaughan on Twitter for his aforementioned trolls on public platforms.
Manjrekar’s reply on Jadeja’s scintillating knock
Manjrekar’s comment of him not being a huge fan of ‘bits and pieces’ players like Jadeja in limited overs format, went against him on Wednesday when the 30-year-old played a superb half-century knock (77 off 59) under pressure to nearly pull India out from the jaws of defeat in the World Cup semi-final match versus New Zealand at Old Trafford.
Jadeja was brilliant with bat, ball as well as in the outfield as he turned out to be the most stand-out performer for India at Manchester. Besides playing an almost match-winning knock, he also bowled with pretty decent figures of 10-0-34-1, and was part of a brilliant run-out from the deep and a superb catch to get rid of Ross Taylor and Tom Latham respectively in the death overs.
Manjrekar, had to comment on the superb performance of the all-rounder, despite in a losing cause, which he finally did post the match. Without giving in much, Manjrekar tweeted via his handle- ‘Well played Jadeja’ with a winking smiley in the end, perhaps realizing how the 30-year-old proved him wrong with his all-round heroics in the semi-final.
Well played Jadeja! 😉
