Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah to be rested during India’s tour of West Indies in August
Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah to be rested for India’s tour of West Indies all set to begin early next month in August
After an agonising end to Team India’s 2019 World Cup campaign, the action now shifts towards the team’s next assignment all set to begin from August 3, 2019. India will be touring West Indies for a three-match T20I and ODI series following with two Test matches.
The tour will begin with the three T20Is beginning from August 3 at Florida, USA. In fact the first two T20 matches will be played at Florida, before the last one to be played at Guyana on August 6.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli and speedster Jasprit Bumrah are likely to miss the limited overs leg due to a continuous busy Cricket schedule. As per the reports, Kohli will join the team for the two Test matches which will commence from August 22 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Firstly I want to thank all our fans who came in huge numbers to support the team. You made it a memorable tournament for all of us & we definitely felt the love showered upon the team. We are all disappointed & share the same emotions as you. We gave everything we had.Jai hind🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/rFwxiUdqK5

Rohit Sharma to lead India in limited-overs series
Rohit Sharma, who too has been playing continuous Cricket for the past half-a-year, is likely to lead the team in the T20 and ODI series in Kohli’s absence.
As far as the squads for the respective series is concerned, the selection committee will sit together on July 17 and 18 in Mumbai for the same.
Other players like Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, and Hardik Pandya are also likely to be rested owing to non-stop Cricket off-late. A big question mark still looms upon whether MS Dhoni will be available for selection or not. There is no word from the management nor the sources privy to the developments regarding Dhoni’s plans for the future, which has become the buzz topic since India’s exit from the World Cup a couple of days ago.
“More players could be rested. Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami – they’ve been playing non-stop cricket. A call can be taken in the coming week. The campaign has just ended. Not even 24 hours have passed. Let’s wait for the team to get back. Last evening hasn’t been easy on them at all. The board will wait to hear from Dhoni,” Timesnownews.com quoted sources as saying.
