Iceland Cricket takes hilarious dig at BJP after Team India’s exit from the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales
Team India’s 18-run loss against New Zealand in the first semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup has left 1.3 billion Indian hearts absolutely devastated and shattered. However, the fans can take solace and pride with the fact that their team did not bow down without a fight in front of the lethal Kiwi bowling line-up coupled with conditions too not relatively suitable for batting.
However, against all the discussions post India’s loss, Cricket Iceland have again come up with their hilarious best, bringing in the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in India into the entire discourse. It is worth mentioning that the BJP won the 2019 General elections in India for the second-successive term with a record margin.
However, there is a popular argument against BJP, particularly from its rival party Indian National Congress, and other left-wing parties in the country that the leaders from the ruling party blame Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru- The first Prime Minister of India and former Congress President, for every other issue or promise made to the general people which they fail to address.
Even during India’s World Cup campaign, the pro-government news channels were telecasting shows discussing whether Narendra Modi would help India win the World Cup or not, with his good run of form in the political arena.
Iceland Cricket takes a dig at BJP
Cricket Iceland, continuing with their trolls and digs at people and Cricket teams they have done off-late, took advantage of the same aforementioned discussions on Indian news channels to troll the Narendra Modi-led BJP after India’s exit from the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
An image is currently going viral on social media which highlights Jawaharlal Nehru’s name after considering one letter from every Indian player’s name in the squad. Iceland Cricket posted the same image on its Twitter handle and hilariously mentioned that they didn’t understand the context of the same.
Their post bore the caption- “Someone said they found “the BJP’s post-tournament analysis”. We don’t really understand it so we thought we’d put it on Twitter so you can explain it to us. #CWC19,”
