Sachin Tendulkar passes huge statement on Kane Williamson’s captaincy post 2019 World Cup final
Tendulkar passes huge statement on Kane Williamson’s captaincy: The Master Blaster opened up on the Kiwi captain on his official app.
A thing which Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson share in common is winning the ‘Player of the Tournament’ in a Cricket World Cup without lifting the trophy. While Tendulkar won the award in 2003 as India lost the final, the same thing happened with Williamson on the last Sunday.
Speaking about Williamson on his official app 100 MB, Tendulkar disclosed what he told him during the presentation ceremony after the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. “Your game was appreciated by all and you had a great World Cup,” Tendulkar disclosed.

Tendulkar considered Williamson “unfortunate” to not win the World Cup. However, the legendary cricketer also mentioned that the disappointment of having lost a cliffhanger didn’t appear on Williamson’s face.
“The best thing about Williamson is ability to stay calm. He doesn’t lose his composure in any circumstances. It was unfortunate that he could not win the World Cup but it did not reflect on his face,” Tendulkar said.

Williamson was lauded throughout the tournament for his exceptional and attacking fielding placements. Following the instincts of former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, Williamson ended the tournament as the most proactive captain.
Your composure and dignity viewing the sequence of events was remarkable. Your dignified grace and silence 48 hours since is simply remarkable. We know you have one hand on that WC. You not just Kane. You Kane and Able. God bless. #CWC19 pic.twitter.com/cLS4cabttu

Further speaking on the Kiwi captain, Tendulkar explained how Williamson’s ploy came good against India when all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was attacking the bowlers in a crunch situation. “Williamson sees the game from an entirely different perspective.
“His field placements, bowling changes while defending a low score is commendable. Even when Jadeja was playing big shots in semi-final, he was calm and in the end, the result was in his favour,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying.
