SRH new coach: Trevor Bayliss announced as head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH new coach: England’s World Cup winning head coach has been announced as head coach of IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad
In what has come as a surprising development, IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has appointed and announced Trevor Bayliss as their new Head coach on Thursday (July 18).
What is surprising though is the fact that, the England’s 2019 World Cup winning coach, was just the previous day also confirmed to be roped in by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming season of the marquee league in 2020, alongside Brendon McCullum as the batting coach.
Great news for KKR fans. Trevor Bayliss and @Bazmccullum are back , as Head Coach and Batting coach/Mentor respectively. You couldn’t have got a better combo to turn things around! pic.twitter.com/4UFttASUOI

Amidst all the confusion, The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has also released a Press Release confirming the same, while thanking their former coach, Tom Moody for his excellent services as the franchise’s coach for the past seven years.

Moody has coached the SRH since 2013 and has, under his able guidance led the franchise to its maiden and only title triumph in the year 2016.
Bayliss carries a strong track record
Trevor Bayliss holds a strong track record as far as his coaching career over the years is concerned. Apart from coaching the England Cricket Team to ultimately lead them to their maiden World Cup title a few days ago, he was also the coach of the Sri Lankan team when they lost the World Cup final in 2011.
Mentioning about his IPL career as a coach, Bayliss was earlier associated with KKR in the year 2012 when they had lifted their maiden IPL title. He was also their head coach in the year 2014 when KKR lifted the trophy for the second time within three years.
But, this is not it. He has also won the Big Bash League and Champions league as head coach of the Sydney Sixers.
Moody, on the other hand, has also expressed his gratitude towards SRH, and has termed it as a privilege to be associated with the franchise for the past seven years.
It’s been a privilege to work for Sunrisers Hyderabad, I have made many friendships and good memories. The success we’ve enjoyed over the 7 yrs is a testament to a hard working team on and off the field. A special thank you to the players, support staff and all the fans. 🙏 https://t.co/2dYphE3yQF
