Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma alleged rift: Kapil Dev passes verdict on recent controversy in Indian cricket
Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma alleged rift: Former Indian captain was vocal about the alleged rift between the Indian captain and deputy.
Despite India captain Virat Kohli quashing all reports of a rift between him and his deputy Rohit Sharma, questions continue to do rounds on social media with respect to things not being the best between the two senior cricketers.
“In my opinion, its baffling. It’s absolutely ridiculous to read these kind of stuff, that comes out there. I have been to public events where we have been praised and here we are feeding off lies, overlooking facts, turning a blind eye to all good things that happened and creating fantasies and scenarios in our head. We want to accept that this is the truth,” Kohli was quoted as saying before leaving for West Indies.

Kapil Dev comments on Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma alleged rift
On the sidelines of East Bengal Football Club’s Foundation Day in Kolkata, former India captain Kapil Dev was asked about the alleged rift. In reply, Dev didn’t shy away from saying that media plays a huge role in promoting such news.
“You have to do your job. Thoda bohot to aap bhi help karte ho na rumour banane mein [Media also helps in building such a rumour]. There is no rumour when you are playing, I don’t think so,” Dev was quoted as saying.
Not ruling out the prospects of a difference of opinion between Kohli and Sharma, Dev seemed unworried about the same. The 60-year old added that varying opinions doesn’t mean that you are pulling the other person down.

“When you are inside the ground I can talk about them, I can talk about myself, when you are batting there is no fight. Off the field, your thinking can be different, approach can be different.
“But when you are playing, there is one aim, how you can win the match. That is important. Difference of opinion does not mean you are pulling someone down,” Dev added.
