Maxwell imitates cricketing legends

Maxwell imitates cricketing legends: The Australian all-rounder was seen imitating the batting of some legends of the game.

Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was recently witnessed imitating the batting stance and signature shots of some of the former and current cricketers.

The list of cricketers which Maxwell emulated for entertainment includes former Australia captain Ricky Ponting, former Australia batsman Mark Waugh, former England cricketer and Maxwell’s teammate at Melbourne Stars Kevin Pietersen, Australia all-rounder and another Stars teammate Marcus Stoinis, former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni and former South Africa captain AB de Villiers.

One has to credit the 30-year old cricketer to copy each one of the above mentioned names with sheer certainty.

While most of the acts will leave the audiences with surprise, the ones regarding Pietersen and Stoinis will convulse them into laughter. In what will go down as a precise attempt, Maxwell even went on to say the words said by Pietersen during the original video.

After playing the T20I series against India in November, Maxwell played a couple of Sheffield Shield match for against Queensland and Western Australia (scoring 0, 35, 57 and 34*).

He is currently leading the Stars squad in the ongoing Big Bash League. In four matches, he has scored 88 runs at an average of 22 and a strike rate of 129.41.

In times when the Australian cricket team is struggling for batsmen, Maxwell’s name has come up the ranks several times only to be ignored by the selectors.

Maxwell’s video of imitating cricketers was uploaded by Cricket Australia on their official website and shared across their social media handles. Watch the full video below:

The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title. When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
