Steven Gerrard makes an emotional video for Fernando Torres on his retirement

Steven Gerrard bids an emotional video for Fernando Torres to tribute the Spanish striker after he played his last match yesterday.

Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres share a close bond since their time together at Liverpool and they had a formidable duo at the Merseyside club.

So, on the occasion of Fernando Torres’ retirement, Steven Gerrard has a message for his former teammate, and certainly, it is an emotional message for any football fan, who watched them playing together.

The former Spanish International gave four years to Liverpool, and in those years he scored scoring 65 goals in 102 league games. However, a £50 million move to Chelsea initially left a bitter taste in the mouth for many Kopites, but in the end, it seemed the club had sold him at just the right time.

The 35-year-old is remembered fondly at the Merseyside club, as he gave many beloved memories to the Kopites in his time with them in the Premier League.

Torres played his last professional career match with Sagan Tosu against Vissel Kobe but he had to see his side getting a beating of 6-1 against the visitors. Despite it, the Japanese club still managed to give him a proper farewell.

The 35-year-old was surprised while seeing his former teammate and now Rangers’ manager Gerrard making an appearance on the giant screen inside the stadium.

“Congratulations on an incredible career. I used to love playing with you, sharing the dressing room with you.

“I wish we could go back to those days… knowing you could run behind defenders and I could find you with passes, and you turning all my bad passes into good passes.

“They’re the days I miss. If that was Anfield, there wouldn’t have been a dry eye in the house.” Gerrard concluded.

El Nino had an incredible career as he achieved two European Championships and a World Cup with Spain, the Europa League with Atletico Madrid, and of course, an FA Cup, Europa League, and Champions League with Chelsea in his 18-year-long career.
