Specsavers offer Jack Leach free glasses for life after Ben Stokes’ tweet
Specsavers offer Jack Leach free glasses for life: The English No. 11 was part of the match-winning 76-run partnership alongside Ben Stokes.
During the fourth day of the third Test of the ongoing 2019 Ashes series between England ans Australia at Headingley, England spinner Jack Leach was part of a match-winning 76-run partnership for the 10th wicket alongside all-rounder Ben Stokes.
Coming in to bat at No. 11 in the 116th over, Leach resisted from committing any blunder with the bat in hand. With Stokes going strong at one end, all Leach had to do was provide able support to the 30-year old cricketer.
Having scored a career-best 92 (162) while opening the batting against Ireland at Lord’s last month, Leach might not have scored as many runs against Australia but his 1* (17) was enough to take his team to a victory yesterday.
Primarily in the team for his left-arm spin, Leach didn’t get to bowl in the first innings. In the 11 overs he bowled in the second innings, Leach was successful in dismissing Australia opening batsman Marcus Harris (19).

After playing a heroic innings to seal the chase for England, Stokes took to social media platform Twitter and asked the series sponsors to give Leach free glasses for life. Soon enough, the official Twitter handle of Specsavers responded to Stokes’ tweet, agreeing to do the same.
