Virat Kohli run-out vs West Indies: The Indian captain was exceptional on the field on the fourth day of the Jamaica Test.

During the fourth day of the second Test of India’s tour of West Indies in Jamaica, India captain Virat Kohli put on display an agile fielding effort to dismiss West Indies batsman Shamarh Brooks. Having dismissed the set batsman, India tightened their grip on the match.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 49th over when Brooks became a victim of his own casualness. Having defended an India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja past the silly point fielder, Brooks expressed his interest in sneaking a single.

However, refusal from the other end saw him strolling back to his end. In what should have been a more alert stroll, Brooks casual effort was noticed by Kohli as his pinpoint throw to the stumps found the batsman short of his crease.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the eight over, Brooks registered his maiden Test half-century in the second innings. Before getting out, Brooks ended up scoring 50 (119) with the help of nine fours.

Chasing a colossal 468-run target, West Indies were bundled out for 210 in 59.5 overs. While Brooks was the highest run-scorer for the hosts, contribution from Jermaine Blackwood (38) and Jason Holder (39) down the order weren’t enough in taking them anywhere near the target.
