Visakhapatnam pitch report and weather tomorrow: There are fair signs of rain playing spoilsport in the first Test between IND and SA.

The first Test of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India will be played tomorrow at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. With the T20I series ending in a 1-1 draw, both the teams would be hoping to lift the trophy this time round.

India had won 3-0 when the last time they played South Africa in a home Test series in 2015. Playing against an inexperienced South African team, the hosts will be banking on their strengths to register a dominating performance throughout the series.

In the only Test played in Visakhapatnam, India had defeated England by 246 runs in 2016. Having scored 167 (267) and 81 (109) in the match, India captain Virat Kohli had top-scored for India and was declared the ‘Man of the Match’.

“It’s a typical Vizag pitch,” Kohli was quoted as saying during the pre-series press conference earlier in the day. Therefore, expect the wicket to play slow and assist the spinners from both the teams.

Having said that, the current weather conditions might make way for fast bowlers calling the shots in the match. It is worth mentioning that rain is expected to play spoilsport especially in the first and the fifth day of the match.

While clouds will remain over the city throughout the match, it will be interesting to watch how much of play is lost due to the same. With a precipitation of 20%, one can assume that players and audiences should see a complete match with little rain interruptions.
