Pune Pitch Report and Weather Forecast: The Sports Rush present before you pitch report and weather forecast for second Test.

The second Test of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India will commence from tomorrow at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Coming on the back of a 203-run victory in the first Test in Visakhatpatnam, another victory for India will seal the series for them.

Another loss for South Africa will make them the second team alongside West Indies to lose their first two Tests of the ICC World Test Championship. Led by Faf du Plessis, the Proteas will be looking to bank on their positives from the first Test to register an enhanced performance in Pune.

Pune Pitch Report and Weather Forecast

The Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium hasn’t been the best of venues for India. The only home Test that they lost in the recent times was at this venue after Australia bundled them out for 105 and 107 in the first and second innings respectively.

It is worth mentioning that the venue has hosted only one Test till now. Given the uncertainty around the pitch at this point in time, it is difficult to say if it will witness another three-day finish.

When the pitch was uncovered before this Test, it is said to be a green-top. It is also said that the same won’t happen tomorrow morning. It is safe to assume that the surface will have something for everyone during the second Test of this series.

As far as the weather in Pune is concerned, the biggest development is that rain is unlikely to play spoilsport throughout the match. While clouds will remain over the city alongside a few thunderstorms on almost all the five days, don’t expect heavy showers which will interrupt the game.
