Dinesh Karthik grabs one-handed stunner: India C’s wicket-keeper put on display an excellent fielding effort in the final match.

During the final match of the Deodhar Trophy between India B and India C in Ranchi, India C wicket-keeper batsman put on display an excellent fielding effort to dismiss India B captain Parthiv Patel.

It all happened on the last delivery on the ninth over when pacer Patel edged a brilliant out-swing delivery from Ishan Porel towards the left of Karthik. The 34-year old keeper timed his dive to perfection to grab the catch with one hand.

Opening the batting with Ruturaj Gaikwad (0), Patel ended up scoring 14 (20) with the help of one four. After Patel won the toss and elect to bat, India B posted a competitive 283/7 in their allotted quota of 50 overs on the back of all-rounder Kedar Jadhav’s 30th List A half-century.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 21st over, Jadhav scored 86 (94) with the help of four fours and four sixes before getting out in the last over. With bowling figures of 10-0-43-5, Porel was the pick of the bowlers for India C.

A middle-order collapse sucked momentum out of India C’s innings as they were eventually restricted to 232/9 in 50 overs. Having contributed with 74 (77) with the help of eight fours and a six, 18-year old Priyam Garg top-scored for the losing team.

With bowling figures of 10-1-32-4, spinner Shahbaz Nadeem registered yet another instrumental spell in the second innings.
