Yusuf Pathan grabs magnificent diving catch: The senior Baroda all-rounder has been in exceptional fielding form this season.

During a Group A match of the ongoing season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019-20 between Baroda and Karnataka in Visakhapatnam, Baroda all-rounder Yusuf Pathan grabbed a magnificent diving catch to dismiss Karnataka batsman Devdutt Padikkal.

It all happened on the first delivery of the seventh over when Padikkal’s attempt of taking on Baroda all-rounder Deepak Hooda saw him holding out to Pathan in the deep.

36-year old Pathan, who grabbed a breathtaking catch against Goa yesterday, was sharp in the field today as well as he ran towards his left before registering a dive to complete the catch safely. Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the previous over, Padikkal ended up scoring 5 (4) with the help of a four.

Karnataka, who secured their record 15th consecutive T20 win against Uttarakhand yesterday, couldn’t go past Sialkot Stallion’s (25) world record after failing to seal a 197-run target.

While top-order batsmen such as Rohan Kadam (57), Karun Nair (47) and Luvnith Sisodia (38) played well, lack of support from the middle-order saw them scoring 182/9 in 20 overs. With bowling figures of 4-0-21-5, Baroda’s Lukman Meriwala was the pick of their bowlers.

After Karnataka captain Nair won the toss and elected to field, Baroda posted a handsome 196/4 in 20 overs on the back of captain Kedar Devdhar’s 52 (38) with the help of one four and four sixes.
