Ashish Nehra gave a plenty of glorious memories for Team India and its fans. What really adds spice to the flesh is the fact that he got a rich farewell on his home ground.

The Indians turned up to produce one of the immaculate performances in a bid to get the better of the Kiwis. India’s 53-run victory confirmed their first-ever T20I win against New Zealand.

Following India’s win, Ashish Nehra and the players walked all over the ground. Nehra who stole the spotlight acknowledged his home crowd in what was a touching sight.

After all the walk, Ashish Nehra was carried on a lap of honour around the Feroz Shah Kotla. Virat Kohli at one end and Shikhar Dhawan at the other ensured that Nehra was positioned on them correctly.

When the entire nation pinned strong hopes in him in crunch situations of the game, Nehra has been the go-to-man bowler for the team who played under six different captains.

The belligerent pacer proved that age is just a number when he made a comeback at the age of 38. He led the pace attack by an epitome of class at the best scene.

He set an example for the young prospects to follow. A big thank you to Ashish Nehra for giving his heart out to play his trade for close to 19 years!
