Deepak Chahar T20I hat-trick: The Indian pacer put on display an awe-inspiring bowling performance in Nagpur.

During the third T20I of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India in Nagpur, India pacer Deepak Chahar registered the best-ever T20I bowling figures. If the same was not enough, Chahar also became the first Indian bowler to grab a T20I hat-trick.

Chahar, who usually opens the bowling, was introduced as the first-change bowler by India captain Rohit Sharma in the third over. The right-arm bowler dismissed Liton Das (9) and Soumya Sarkar (0) on consecutive deliveries of his first over to make early inroads into the Bangladeshi lineup.

Just when things were seeming to go out of India’s reach, Sharma brought back Chahar into the attack who dismissed Mohammad Mithun (27) to break a 98-run potentially match-winning stand between him and Mohammad Naim.

It was on the last delivery of his third over that Chahar dismissed Shafiul Islam (4) to grab his fourth wicket of the match. With India almost winning the match by then, Chahar continued to dismiss the opposition batsman in his last over.

Having dismissed Mustafizur Rahman (1) and Aminul Islam (9) on the first two balls of his last over, Chahar registered record bowling figures of 3.2-0-7-6. It is worth mentioning that Chahar has surpassed former Sri Lanka spinner Ajantha Mendis who had registered bowling figures of 4-2-8-6 against Zimbabwe in 2012.
